Although we hear a lot about how songs can help the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) or English as a Second Language (ESL) classroom, if you’re not musically inclined it can be tough to make it work. But no need to worry, I’m going to give you some hints and techniques that I’ve used to teach songs very effectively from classes of two kids up to over a thousand. With a bit of practice ESL songs will save you a whole lot of stress and time!

KEYS TO TELLING JOKES

The classic art of telling a joke is as old as the spoken word. Like music, it is a universal language. Jokes can be a very powerful force because by nature, they are two-sided. Jokes can bond or separate, heal or destroy, and be a vehicle for love or hatred. You must be aware. One can never say, It’s just a joke. There is always a meaning behind any jest, and by telling it or participating in it, you are choosing to endorse whatever that joke is representing. There are four things you need to understand in order to successfully tell or participate in any joke.

Global warming is an increase in the average temperature of Earth’s surface. Since the late 1800’s, the global average temperature has increased about 0.7 to 1.4 degrees F (0.4 to 0.8 degrees C). Many experts estimate that the average temperature will rise an additional 2.5 to 10.4 degrees F (1.4 to 5.8 degrees C) by 2100. That rate of increase would be much larger than most past rates of increase.
